Our Story

Fruit Share Adelaide was founded in 2023 by South Australian resident, Brett Dunstone, who was inspired by similar fruit sharing initiatives around the world. What started as a simple idea — connecting people with surplus fruit to those in need — has grown into a thriving community movement.

We harvest excess fruit from trees across Adelaide and the Hills, redistributing it to food relief charities and people in need. We aim to prevent food waste while building community connections and supporting those facing food insecurity.

How it works

1

Tree owners register

Homeowners with surplus fruit register their trees with us. We cover all of Adelaide and the surrounding Hills.

2

Volunteers harvest

Our amazing Fruit Heroes visit the property, harvest the surplus fruit, and share it between the tree owner, volunteers, and charity.

3

Community benefits

Fresh fruit is delivered to food relief organisations across Adelaide — community kitchens, food pantries, schools, and charities.
